Energy-using items mainly include winter heating, summer air conditioning, lighting, electronic screens, elevators, equipment in information rooms, electric water heaters etc. Through field investigation and measurement, compares and analyses the annual energy consumption of eight railway stations in five architecture climate zones. The results show that the annual electricity consumption index per unit area is 71-272 kWh/(m2·a), not inclusive of heating energy consumption; for the large-scale stations with central air conditioning system in main activity spaces of passengers, the electricity consumption index per unit area of air conditioning system is 73-152 kWh/m2 in summer. Analyses influences of the climate condition, station scale, energy-saving design and operating management on the energy consumption of railway stations.
